I liked your post a lot for your thoughts and the resources. The phrase "less is less" resonated with me. I wanted to write something similar, but couldn't find such an elegant and concise way to say it.

Re: MicroMedia Paves the Way for Macro Influence

Brian good points as usual. I think of this as giving people many consumable formats to choose from.

Twitter for short and concise messaging, blogging for lengthy messaging and video for visual messaging.

Dan Schawbel

www.personalbrandingmag.com

Re: MicroMedia Paves the Way for Macro Influence

Your definition is more concise than mine, I like it!

"Any form of concentrated content created using social tools that broadcast voice, video, images or text to targeted Web and mobile communities."

Re: MicroMedia Paves the Way for Macro Influence

Sometimes less is less. Very, very true. And dinner is what you really crave when you have a snack. Well done. Funny video, too.

Re: MicroMedia Paves the Way for Macro Influence

Well said Brian. I've taken to media snacking this year, and while I'm finding many benefits to it, I'm also finding that it is shifting the way I consume and produce media. It seems as I snack more I have less time for full meals, whether that means writing my regular blog entries or reading novels. I used to read anywhere from 2-5 books a week, and now I spend much of that time online. Meanwhile most of my RL friends have yet to jump on the bandwagon, so when I start talking about Flickr, Pownce, Tumblr, etc. they look at me as though I'm speaking some other language!

Re: MicroMedia Paves the Way for Macro Influence

Great post Brian. I agree and discussed this in my own media snack after I was tagged by Geoff. I love media snacks b/c they do give me a little something to tide me over, sort of like appetizers. Every now and then however your community will want the entire dinner, better be prepared.

Good stuff.

/kff
